Help Cody Start Over: From Living in a Van to a Place He Can Finally Call Home

Sometimes, all it takes is one season of life to change everything.

For Cody Joslin, those seasons came one after another.

Cody is a young man who has always tried to work hard, help others, tell people about Jesus, and do what he believes is right. But over the years, he has experienced loss after loss. His grandparents passed away. Shortly afterward, he lost his dad. The people who were supposed to be part of his support system were suddenly gone.

And Cody was left trying to figure out how to keep moving forward without the family he once depended on.

Today, Cody, his girlfriend, her elderly grandmother, and their dog are living out of a van.

This isn’t the life Cody dreamed of.

He wants to work. He wants to rebuild. He wants stability. He wants to wake up somewhere safe, have a place to call home, and have the opportunity to get back on his feet.

But when you’re already struggling mentally, physically, and financially, getting that fresh start can feel almost impossible.

And there’s another reason this moment matters so much.

Cody’s girlfriend’s elderly grandmother is facing surgery on September 8th. While their family is dealing with that difficult situation, they’re also facing the reality of having no stable home to return to.

That’s where GIVRS wants to step in.

We’re not trying to simply give Cody a temporary handout. We’re trying to help him get a real fresh start—a safe place to live, the ability to get established, transportation and necessities, and the breathing room he needs to find work and begin rebuilding his life.

Sometimes people don’t need someone to save them.

They just need someone to believe in them long enough for them to get back on their feet.

Cody has spent years trying to keep going through circumstances that would break a lot of people.

Now we’re asking for people to stand with him.
